We find film fascinating. We like discussing production, editing, story, storyboarding, acting, directing, cinematography, film scores, trivia, history, fan service, fan theories, subtexts, big ideas; if it is part of film we like to discuss it. For us film is no different than literature can be discussed just as deeply, or shallowly. We have been discussing movies for years and want to invite you, the listener to join us. I'm Max. And I'm Jason. Welcome to the conversation.

Thursday Dec 02, 2021
Thursday Dec 02, 2021
For a couple of reasons (mentioned in the intro) we are revisiting Netflix's Masters of the Universe: Revelation. This is likely a good idea because Part 2 of the Kevin Smith helmed show dropped recently. We will tackle that soon. In the meantime, here is what we thought of Part 1. Next week we tackle the sand dunes of Arrakis.
See you in 7....ish.

Thursday Nov 04, 2021
Folks huge apologies for the lateness of this episode. It is both a week late and, on top of that, it is a single late Halloween episode. We had wanted to give listeners a month of Halloween episode. Alas, we flubbed it. We'll try to do better next Halloween! After some production and life obstacles we present to you our reflections, reactions, observations on that much loved classic by Francis Ford Coppola, Bram Stoker's Dracula,

Thursday Oct 21, 2021
Well, here it is. The second part of our two part discussion of Logan has arrived. Corrections are made, though not enough, as I (Max) kept thinking that the casino hotel our heroes stay at is in Vegas. It was not.
Anyway, we think you will enjoy our commentary even though we are discussing bittersweet film. Let us know what you think.

On this week's episode of M&JWAM, we begin our deep dive into Logan. This will be our part one. It is a film worth exploring in some detail. In part one we get into production and make some educated guesses about what source material Mangold et al are adapting or being inspired by. We also pretty thoroughly explore the first act of the film.

Max and Jason Watch a Movie: The Meanderings
Friday Oct 08, 2021
Friday Oct 08, 2021
Folks this week, we're going to try a new episode type. The Meanderings. Before or after almost any recording we do, we talk a lot, about a lot of different things. I thought our pre-show conversation for Logan was interesting and fun enough to offer to you. In this conversation we tackle, the Hypothetical Future MCU Mutant movies, the strange franchise that was Fox's X-Men films, Thor Ragnarok, The Matrix films, and we discuss how we think of the Sam Rami Spider-Man films, though not necessarily in that order.
Enjoy the Meanderings.
